Kayla remained in silence for one minute. Several different options of what could happen if she stayed for the night attacked her mind, she couldn’t think straight with all the things going on in her head. “So… what do you say?” Jared asked impatiently, snapping her out of her thoughts. She looked up at him and saw his lips curve into a small adorable smile, which was enough to make her accept. “Fine.” She answered, grimacing as if she had no other choice. Jared laughed. They had been friends quite a time and they had made pretty clear that staying friends was the best for both of them, even though some attraction could be felt between them; there was no denying it. Still, Kayla decided to stay for the night with Jared. She was a good friend after all. “But there’s one teeny tiny problem,” she said as they headed for the living room. “Which is?” He cocked an eyebrow. “Where the hell am I gonna sleep? With your dog?” Jared burst into laughter. “If you want to,” he shrugged. Kayla glared at him. “Seriously Jared, where am I going to sleep?” “Are you really asking me this, Kayla?” “Well, yeah,” she made it obvious. “You’re going to sleep in my bed, with me. Where else?” Jared stated, as if it was the more normal thing to happen. At first she looked at him seriously, trying to figure out if he was kidding or not, then she raised one of her eyebrows playfully when she realized she didn’t hate the idea. “Alright. I’m a guest in your house after all and it would be rude if I were to complain about where I have to sleep.” She pulled her tongue out, like a kid and his face lit up with a smile. “Damn right it would be rude, so you’re gonna sleep in my bed with me and that’s it.” He winked at her and before she could question his openly flirtatious behaviour, he turned around and started walking in direction of his kitchen. “So you’re hungry, right? Come with me, we’ll get you something to eat.”
